This Privacy Policy applies to the Ai Expenses Tracker mobile application (the "App"), published on Google Play under the package name com.latokosero.expenses. The App is developed and operated by Latokosero ("we", "us", or "our").
This policy explains how Latokosero collects, uses, and protects information when you use the App on Android or iOS. By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
2. Information we collect
Information you enter
You may enter expenses, income, categories, amounts, dates, notes, and budgets. This information is stored locally on your device and is not uploaded to our servers, except when you use the AI features described in Section 4.
Security information
If you enable an app PIN, a securely hashed version of your PIN is kept in your device's secure storage. If you enable biometric unlock, authentication is handled entirely by your device's operating system. We never receive or store your fingerprint, face data, or other biometric information.
Usage and diagnostic information
We use Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to understand how the App is used and to fix problems. These services may automatically collect:
- Device model, operating system version, and app version
- App interaction events, such as screens viewed and features used
- Crash logs, error reports, and related diagnostic data
- Pseudonymous identifiers, such as an app instance ID
- Approximate location derived from IP address (country or region level)
We do not intentionally include your expense details, notes, or amounts in analytics events or crash reports.
3. How we use information
- To provide core features, such as tracking, charts, budgets, and reminders
- To automatically categorize expenses and generate spending insights
- To diagnose crashes and improve stability and performance
- To understand which features are useful so we can improve the App
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your data for targeted advertising.
4. AI features
The App offers optional AI powered features, including smart input (turning a sentence like "lunch 250 and taxi 400" into transactions) and spending analysis. When you use these features:
- The text you type, or a summary of the relevant transactions, is sent over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) to our processing service to generate the result.
- This data is used only to return the result to you. We do not use it to build a profile about you.
- The processing service may rely on third party AI model providers, who process the data under their own terms and privacy policies.
If you prefer not to share this data, simply do not use the AI features. The rest of the App works without them.
5. Third party services
The App uses the following third party services, each governed by its own privacy policy:
- Google Firebase (Analytics and Crashlytics)
- Cloudflare Workers, which hosts the AI processing service
6. Device permissions
The App may request the following permissions. Each is used only for the purpose listed:
- Internet and network state: to use AI features and send diagnostic reports.
- Biometrics: to let you unlock the App with fingerprint or face recognition, if you choose to enable it.
- Notifications: to send reminders you set up, such as a daily prompt to log expenses.
- Run at startup: to restore your scheduled reminders after the device restarts.
- Storage and file access: to export backups or spreadsheets and to import files you select. The App only accesses files you explicitly choose.
7. Storage and security
Your financial records are stored in a local database on your device. Sensitive values, such as your PIN hash, are kept in the platform's secure storage (Android Keystore or iOS Keychain). Data sent to online services is transmitted using HTTPS.
No method of storage or transmission is completely secure. Please protect your device with a screen lock and keep regular backups.
8. Data retention and deletion
- Local data stays on your device until you delete it within the App, clear the App's data, or uninstall the App.
- Backup files you export are controlled by you. Wherever you save or share them, such as cloud drives or messaging apps, that service's policies apply.
- AI requests are processed to produce a result and are not kept by us for longer than needed to do so.
- Analytics and crash data are retained by Firebase according to Google's retention settings.
9. Your choices and rights
You can view, edit, export, and delete your data at any time within the App. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights, such as the right to access or erase personal data held about you. Because most data stays on your device, the simplest way to remove it is to delete it within the App or uninstall the App. For questions about data held by third party services, contact us using the details below.
10. Children's privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us so we can help address it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy.
